SEHORE: International Women’s Day was celebrated under the aegis of zilla sahkari sangh maryadit. A seminar of women cooperative workers was organised on the occasion. Women achievers working in various fields were feted. Addressing the function, District Central Co-operative Bank chairperson Usha Saxena said women should join job-oriented courses and become economically self-reliant. They should not be dependent on others – not even on their family members. Dharam Singh Verma, chairman of the sangh welcomed the guests. He garlanded a portrait of goddess Saraswati and lighted the ceremonial lamp. Urmila Maretha and Usha Saxena presented bouquets to the elderly ladies present at the programme.
