Khetia: A general meeting of all the women self-help groups (SHGs) operating in the region was organised here at municipal council on Saturday. Registration certificates were distributed to presidents and secretaries of the groups during the meeting.
MLA Deevan Singh Patel was the chief guest of the programme, while city council president Amrit Bagul, SC Service Cooperative Committee president Hiralal Yesikar, CMO Santosh Chauhan, agricultural produce market VP Pandit Nikum, former district president Basantibai Patel, Pradeep Harsela, Vinod Jain, Pawan Sharma, Kishore Kothari and Ashok Shinde were among others present on the occasion.
Patel in his address said that “Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has started schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojna, Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojna and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao for the betterment of women in the state. In this scenario, women are becoming more independent as well as self-sufficient.”
He further informed that women will be given training on stitching, running beauty parlour, making spices and incense sticks and other businesses in May. District industries manager will also be deputed in such endeavours to help women generate further income and thus become more independent, he added.
