BHOPAL: Teams of three police stations raided a high-tech gambling den being operated by woman in Congress Nagar area and nabbed as many as two dozen persons red-handed in the wee hours of Sunday. The woman however managed to give police a slip.
Shahjehanabad CSP Nagendra Pateriya said for the past few weeks they were receiving complaints regarding a gambling den being run by Bhuri Bai near Congress Nagar culvert. The woman in-order to avert any police action had installed CCTV cameras in the area. A team comprising personnel, including women from three police stations was constituted to conduct rain on the gambling den. Cops carried out raid in the wee hours of Sunday and nabbed two around dozen persons.
Police seized Rs 3 lakh, CCTV cameras,DVR two dozen mobile phones and playing cards from them. All the arrested persons were booked under section 151 of the IPC. Pateriya said the woman Bhuri managed to flee but she will be arrested soon.
