Cables have been put above certain height up to a certain stretch but it found dangling at low height Mayur Park –Arera Club, JP Hospital region and other pockets. Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration had a plan for underground wiring at central verge for safety point of view but BMC administration shelved it later.
Officials claim that BMC administration has taken this job on priority. Haphazard wiring is not only an eyesore on link road no-1 but it also posing danger to commuters on the model road of the state capital. BMC Additional commissioner Ranveer Singh, looking after electrical work, said, “We have started the work to set the haphazard wiring right or to put it in order. Wiring and cables will be upto certain height for safety reason.
We are not putting the wiring underground. By using old poles, hanging cables will be put on those poles for safer side. And it will be easier for repairing in case of any fault. Within next couple of months, everything will be in order.” “We have to keep the traffic signals in mind. Traffic signals should not be disturbed due to wiring and cables. And secondly, we have to repair them in case of fault. So all these factors are in our mind and we are doing it on priority basis,” BMC additional commissioner added.
