Bhopal: Winter plays hide and seek before bidding final goodbye

BHOPAL: Winter continues to play hide and seek before bidding final goodbye as a day after significant rise in temperature, mercury on Friday fell sharply in many parts of state. The state capital saw a drop of five degree Celsius in day temperature on Friday, while in Indore mercury witnessed 3.4 degree Celsius fall.  Sharpest fall of 6.5 degree Celsius in temperature was recorded in Gwalior, followed by Bhopal which posted drop of around 5 degree Celsius on the day and Nowgaon too saw fall in temperature by 4.7 degree Celsius. However, mercury headed toward north in Sagar, Shahdol and Satna divisions where day temperature rose sharply.

Bhopal recorded maximum temperature of 31 degree Celsius which was 1.8 degree Celsius above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 17 degree Celsius which was 3.5 degree Celsius above normal. Day temperature recorded a drop of 4.8 degree Celsius and night temperature recorded a drop of 2.8 degree Celsius. Similarly, Indore recorded a maximum of 31.6 degree Celsius which was 1.3 degree Celsius above normal while it recorded minimum temperature of 16.4 degree Celsius which was 3.6 degree Celsius above normal. There was drop of 2.6 degree Celsius in night temperature.

As per the meteorological department, there was wide fluctuation in temperature. It increased in Sagar, Satna and Shahdol divisions while It recorded a sharp drop in Bhopal, Gwalior divisions. Rewa and Jabalpur divisions experienced sporadic rains. The rain and hail are expected in the state till February 27 and it will have impact on temperature.
Scattered light to moderate rains will once again occur over many areas of Madhya Pradesh from February 24. Rain intensity will increase on February 25 and continue until February 26. So clouds also may have impact on temperature.
