BHOPAL: The windmill designed and produced by the students of Mechanical Engineering department of Patel Group of Institutions has started producing electricity. It is generating 600 watts of power per day. It starts generating power even if the wind is flowing at the minimal rate of four metre per second. The windmill also has a solar power unit attached to it. The power is being used in the institution. The device was developed by Rahul Kumar Rai, Gaurav Tiwari, Shubham Anand, Rajan Kumar, Satish Singh and others. Director Dr LD Balani and PD More, principal Dr Arvind Rathore and other faculty members have praised the initiative. The management said that the project was a part of the institute’s endeavour to give practical exposure to the students, besides theoretical knowledge.
