Bhopal: Countering Congress’ loan waiver to farmers, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also announced to make the state farmers debt-free. “Farmers of the state will not remain in debt,” said Chouhan while speaking at an election meeting in Betul district on Sunday. “We would give so much money that farmers will not remain debtors”, claimed Chouhan adding that we would take measures to make farmers loan-free besides ‘Samadhan Yojana’ has been brought for defaulting farmers, assured the CM.
Alleging that Congress was speaking lies to farmers, Chouhan claimed that Congressmen would not do anything as they promised but he would help farmers get right price for their produce which could free them from debt. The Congress did not give a single paisa to farmers when it was in power but it was the BJP which gave them bonus, said Chouhan, adding that bonus will be given equally to big and small farmers.
Taking a jibe at the Congress, Chouhan said that if anyone wishes to get stars and moon, the Congressmen would promise to do it in merely 10 days. Chouhan’s announcement comes apparently to counter the loan waiver promise of Congress. The opposition party’s announcement was influencing some of the constituencies. With Chouhan’s announcement of making farmers loanfree, the BJP may now combat on election issues related to farmers.
