BHOPAL : The people of the state already consider Narmada as their mother but now the river would be given the status of a living person. This was announced by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Mandla during the Narmada Yatra.
Chouhan said a resolution to this effect would be placed before Vidhan Sabha in the next session. He said the initiative was aimed at equipping Narmada with her own rights.
