Ashwini Sharma, who came into limelight after income tax raids, has said that he would give all details of the cash recovered from his brother’s place to Income Tax (I-T) Department. The department had seized a whooping sum of more than Rs 10 crore from house of Ashwin and his cousin situated at Platinum Plaza. Ashwin has said that the money recovered belonged to his brother.
On the other hand, Congress and BJP have started leveling allegations on each other with the recovery of money in I-T raids. Both the parties are trying to disown any connections with Ashwin. Ashwin interacting with media said he was not a BJP member but he follows its ideology. He said his growth in 15 years reflects his association with the party.
Levelling allegations on I-T sleuths, Ashwin said he was pressurized to take some names and he was not ready to take anybody’s name. He said he had family relations with Pravin Kakkad and his son Salil Kakkad. Ashwin maintains that he never did Hawala deals and raised his business on his own hardwork. He said raids should not be politicized. Ashwini refuted charges that he was into the business of making money by getting transfers and postings done.
Sleuths scanning docs
I-T officials have recovered incriminating documents in large numbers in the raids conducted in four states including Madhya Pradesh. Investigations have started on the basis of raids. The departmental officials also recovered documents from the residences of Ashwin Sharma and his relative Prateek Joshi related to working of the government. The department would call people for interrogations. The I-T officials have also found slips showing dealings along with documents related to government tenders. Some more officials and private companies may be given notices for interrogations in this matter.
