Ratlam: Taking a dig at government, Congress MP Kantilal Bhuria on Sunday alleged that farmers have been put in serious difficulty by the government as it asked them to repay loans by February end despite the fact that farmers will get their money for Rabi crops March onwards.
Bhuria was addressing the Jan Vedna meeting organised by Congress in village Dharad near here.
Bhuria, while asking “acche din kab ayenge” (when will good days come) said “over two months have passed since demonetisation came into effect, but things have not become normal yet as common people have been facing lot of inconvenience. Farmers were receiving abnormal electricity bills and housewives were in distress due to hike in the prices of LPG and other household goods,” he added.
He argued that people collected their hard earned money and deposited during demonetisation period with the banks but they are now receiving notices from the income tax department.
While Bhuria accused both the Union and state governments of failing in governance, he reminded the era of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. “During Nehru era country got development, during Indira Gandhi era green revolution was made possible and Rajiv Gandhi gifted Sanchar Kranti,” he reminded.
Several Congress leaders, including Prabhu Rathore, Mangal Patidar, Meghraj Patidar, Rajesh Purohit also addressed the gathering.
