Bhopal: Seoni police have come up with a brilliant idea. They have linked helmets with festival of Karva Chauth, which will be observed on Sunday. Women in India observe fast on Karva Chauth for well being of their husbands. Striking the emotional chord, the police have released posters in which they said helmet is necessary for long life of husbands and therefore women should ask their husbands to wear helmet while driving two wheelers.

The slogan on the posters says, “Pati Ko Helmet Diye Bina, Karva Chauth vrat Adhura Hai” (Karva Chauth is incomplete if woman does not give helmet to husband). The posters show a woman offering prayers for her husband’s well being on karva chauth with sieve in one hand and helmet in another hand.

Such catchy posters have been pasted on road squares, prime locations and other places in Seoni. DGP has appreciated this innovative idea to promote use of helmets. In his tweets, DGP directed other SPs to come up with similar innovative ideas, which are easy to implement. Seoni SP Tarun Nayak told Free Press that their main objective is to promote use of helmets by touching emotional chords. “We did it, connecting relations on festival like Karva Chauth. Even DGP appreciated us and instructed others to follow similar kind of innovative ideas,” he said.
