BHOPAL: The local residents of Malviya Nagar have been demanding for a long time for shifting the liquor shop because they say it spoils the ambience as drunkards turn rabble-rousers after they get sozzled just outside the shop.

The traders say it damages their business as girls and women hesitate to visit the other shops near the liquor outlet.

As per the businessman and local residents, government should make some policy about the location for the liquor shops. Simply blaming each other does not serve the purpose. Authority concerned should find out any solution as far as location for the liquor shop is concerned.

Sometimes, protest gets louder even before the opening of the liquor shop. Some of the people demanded total prohibition on liquor in the large interest of the society especially students. They see nuisance which is daily routine, even in the posh colonies like Malviya Nagar.

Kanhaiya Lal

“The liquor shop should be shifted to elsewhere as it disturbs and spoils the ambience in the market. Children pick bad influence due to presence of brawling drunkards.”

Mansoor Ali

“Actually, liquor shop leaves band impression on the mind of children who divert from studies due to bad company putting their career at stake. Similarly, families get disturbed due to men addicted to liquor.”

Rajesh Yadav

“No doubt, it is business so anyone who has opened the shop wants to earn money. But liquor shop is such a business which causes problems to others. This is the reason people protest so authority concern should find out solution.”

Vijay Chouhan

“Entire residential and even business atmosphere is ruined just because of one shop of liquor. Government should make policy about allocation of liquor shop.”
