BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, addressing a Mahapanchayat of state employees unions at Mantralaya Park here on Monday, said that employees will be given the benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission. The state government understands their problems very well and a decision on their valid demands will be taken soon. Chouhan also made employees take the resolve that they would work hard with full dedication to make Madhya Pradesh the best state in the world.

Chouhan said the state government was working with a new vision and attempts are being made to understand the problems of all sections of society. He said it was the policy of the government to respect all and work for all. He said a teacher, who once used to get a paltry salary of Rs 500 is now getting around Rs 35,000. The justified demands of the employees are being fulfilled without them even raising them.

Chouhan said it was the support and hard work of employees that had made Madhya Pradesh the leading state of the country, as far as growth rate is concerned.

Agricultural growth rate was more than 20 per cent for the past four years, which is unprecedented. Irrigation potential has risen to 40 lakh hectares, road network has expanded, the state has become power surplus and per capita income has gone up.

Chief minister said the demonetisation was a bold decision which only a ‘Yug Purush’ like Modi can take. The poor are happy with the decision.

The decision has hit fake currency, terrorism, black money and corruption hard. He said cashless transactions and plastic money are the need of the hour and their use should be promoted.

Chouhan also emphasised on the conservation of river Narmada. He said the farmers owning land on the banks of Narmada will be encouraged to plant fruit-bearing trees. They would be given compensation at the rate of Rs 20,000 per hectare till their trees start bearing fruits. Chouhan said the government has also made a scheme to pay the fees of poor meritorious students studying in prestigious colleges.
