HOSHANGABAD: Smart phones were distributed to students of Government Home Science College here on Friday under Mukhyamantri Sampark Scheme. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr Sitasharan Sharma was the chief guest. The function was chaired by college principal Dr Kamini Jain. Dinesh Tiwari was the special guest. The programme began with garlanding of the statue of goddess Saraswati.
Dr Arun Sikarwar, in-charge of the IT cell of the college, said that Smart phones were provided to 738 students, who took admission in the college in 2015-16 session.
Chief guest Dr Sitasharan Sharma said that Madhya Pradesh Government has launched smart phones distribution scheme so that students can keep pace with changing times as envisaged by Digital India Scheme of the Union Government. He said that students should use phones to enhance and enrich their knowledge.
Dr Kamini Jain urged students not to misuse the hones. The function was conducted by Shruti Gokhle. A large number of students, members of the people’s participation committees and teachers and staff members of the college were present.
