Talaiya police have booked a case against unidentified miscreants for opening fire on a vehicle that was carrying the inmates of central jail from the district court, on Tuesday. The incident occurred at around 4 pm on Tuesday when the inmates of central jail, who had come to attend hearing in the court, were returning in the vehicle. Over 42 prisoners were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.
A cop accompanying them spotted three bike borne men wielding a revolver.He also noticed a gun shot on the vehicle and informed the local police station and the team then rushed to the spot and after the van left, an FIR was registered with the Talaiya police. According to additional superintendent of police (ASP) Manu Vyas- ASI Shobharan Singh who was inside said that he also heard a gunshot. He said that the bullet signs were not found on the van.
