BHOPAL: Failing to bear the cost of last rites, a 35-year-old man dumped his newborn daughter’s body near central library, on Tuesday. The girl had died as soon as she was born and when her father went to crematorium, he found the rates too high.
It was on Sunday, corporator Shahwar Mansoori who had gone to see water leakage found the body and informed the Talaiya police after which the local cops went looking for her parents. It was then found that the girl had died and her parents were traced in Sultania hospital. They belong to Bhil’s tribe and are native of Guna.
They then told police that they could not afford the prevailing cost of burial at crematoriums and hence they decided to dump the body of the new born girl in the area. Talaiya SI Karan Singh said the girl’s parents are new to Bhopal and after they found no place to bury her, they dumped her near the library.
