Bhopal: Uma stands firm, denies contesting elections

Union minister Uma Bharati, whose name is doing rounds for party candidate from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat, has clarified that she would not contest elections. Uma has tweeted that she had decided not to contest elections this time. She said if she contests from Bhopal then the voters of Jhansi would feel hurt and that is why she would not contest elections this time.

Uma said she would surely campaign against former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh. Uma said the defamation case filed by Singh against her was based on allegations leveled against him in elections of 2013. According to Uma, she stepped down before taking action against Singh in corruption cases. She claimed that Singh had filed case only to insult her and he did not file case against those who got chargesheet filed against him.
