Bhopal: Uma Bharati won’t contest election, writes to Amit Shah

BHOPAL: Union Minister Uma Bharati, amidst exercise of selection of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, has once again refused to contest the elections. Uma wrote a letter to BJP national president Amit Shah expressing her desire not to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

She urged Shah to officially announce that she would not be in the fray. Uma has tweeted on the day of meeting of Central Election Committee of the BJP, so that her name should not be considered. The minister said that she wanted to spend her maximum time on the banks of Ganga for one-and-a-half years. She said that she would campaign for party candidates in the Lok Sabha elections and also fulfill the responsibility given to her by the party leadership.

Uma further said that she would not retire from politics till the last moment of her life. She said she would remain in politics to fight for the rights of poor. She said that she wanted Modi as Prime Minister again. It is said that she is facing anti-incumbency in her constituency, Jhansi. She intends to return to MP but the party is not ready for it. This has made her keeping distance from contesting Lok Sabha elections this time.
