BHOPAL: Former Union human resources development (HRD) minister Murali Manohar Joshi said newly-elected American president Donald Trump has created obstacles for students to work in the USA under his regime after completing their studies, but whenever you go abroad feel your responsibilities towards the motherland.” Joshi was addressing the convocation ceremony organised in Barkatullha University as the chief guest on Monday.

Joshi was awarded honoris causa Doctorate of Science degree, by the chancellor and in-charge governor of the state Om Prakash Kohli in the convocation ceremony. The degree has been given for his excellent work in the field of science.

On the occasion 329 students of year 2014-15 and 2015-16 were awarded degrees of Ph.D, PG, UG and gold medals.

119 students received the Ph.D degree, 116 students received the post graduate degree, 111 PG and 72 under graduate students received merit certificate. 16 PG students and 14 under graduate have received the gold medal on the occasion.

MM Joshi said that the other countries like Israel, Japan, China and others were facing same problems when India got independence. But these countries have developed significantly and India is still in the developing countries category.

Whereas he added that after 1947, India has also progressed, became a nuclear power and important nation in the world. “In the year 2008 when whole world was facing recession, Indian economy remained unaffected, because of saving habits,” he added.

He asked the students to fill the gap between rich and poor, saying they were in safe zone while studying, but after that the world is full of challenges and they have to maintain their balance of progress and social responsibility.

In-charge governor OP Kohli said youth are big assets of any country. India is a country where there are 50 per cent youths, but some time this assets turns into problem when they do not get work.

He also pointed out his concern that in top 200 universities of the world, not even single university is from India.
