New Market Businessmen Association and Minister for Public Relation PC Sharma are heading for a showdown over permission for hawkers to run their business from New Market. Business Association will observe bandh on March 26 if hawkers are not stopped from doing business in New Market.
Hawkers are carrying out their business for years from New Market and from time to time, they were removed but even then, they used to run their business from New Market or from its periphery. Recently the administration had removed them from New Market making it a no-hawkers and no-vehicle zone. Though this initiative was highly appreciated by public but the public relation minister PC Sharma allegedly intervened into matter and encouraged the hawkers to run their business from New Market.
Association president Satish Gangrade accused the public relation minister PC Sharma for supporting the reentry of the hawkers into the New Market. “If this practice is not stopped, New Market businessmen will observe bandh on March 26 as mark of protest, Gangrade said, adding, “Hawkers hamper our business. It causes loss to our business, which we cannot afford.”
