Second rank holders just 2 marks short

BHOPAL:  Topper of the 10th MP board Devprakash Manjhi was ranked first in the state with 587 marks out of 600. Two students Anchal Sangitra from Ratlam and Jayant Patel have notched the second place with 585 marks. At least 58 students have found place in top ten in the result.

On third place two students Sushma Rajput from Kalapipal of Sheopur and Srijan Shrivastava from Gwalior have scored 583 marks.

On the fourth position, two students, at fifth, three students, on sixth position 10 students have scored 579 marks. By scoring 578 marks five students have scored seventh rank, 11 students scoring 577 marks have ranked 8th, nine students have scored 567 marks and have secured 9th position and 13 students have scored 10th rank on the toppers’ list.

In higher secondary school result, students of humanities stream, from rural background, have performed better, but in science, commerce and agriculture, the urban students have performed better. Girls have done exceptionally well, breaching the urban rural divide.

In humanities 47.73 per cent students from urban areas have passed, while 55.63 per cent students from rural schools have passed. 54.41 per cent girl students of urban areas and 59.26 per cent girls from rural areas have passed the exam, whereas for boys 39.73 per cent passed from urban and 51.66 per cent passed from rural areas.

In science stream urban students have performed well due to better facilities of laboratory and teaching faculties. 59.41 per cent boys of urban areas and 53.88 per cent boys of rural areas have passed the exam. 67.06 per cent girls from urban and 64.67 per cent from rural have passed the exam. Total 58.30 per cent students from rural schools and 62.41 per cent from urban schools have been able to pass the exam.

In commerce stream 61.49 per cent boys from urban and 59.68 per cent from rural schools have passed while 79.85 per cent girls from urban and 77.35 per cent from rural have passed. Total 69.48 per cent students studying in urban schools and 66.30 per cent from rural schools have passed the commerce stream exam.

Interestingly in the agriculture stream, it is assumed that the students of rural areas know more about agriculture, but the result is different. 57.15 per cent students belonging to urban schools and 54.09 per cent from rural schools have passed the exam. 59.75 per cent girls of urban and 58.86 per cent of rural passed while total 57.72 per cent students of urban and 55.68 per cent of rural schools have passed the exam.

In the high school merit list, 33 boys and 25 girls have found place. Twenty-seven per cent girls have passed in first division which is four per cent more than boys. Total 48.58 per cent boys and 51.46 per cent girls have passed and total 49.91 per cent students have passed. Private students have fared badly, with only 10.33 per cent students passing the board, of which 10.82 per cent are boys and 10.14 per cent are girls.

Drastic change is seen in the education quality of Sahdol district in both the classes as it has performed very well and in Ratlam district 90 percent students have passed in the high school exam.

In the current exam, not even a single mass copying case was registered and only 2,000 cases of unfair means were registered personally.
At least 7,12,811 students of higher secondary and 11,56,095 students of high school appeared in the exam. The result of government schools are better compared to private school results.
