Bhopal: Thieves made away with cash and other valuables worth Rs 2.70 lakh from a retired officer. According to Kamla Nagar police, complainant Mukund Bansore was retired from the food department in 2013 and he had gone to Akola on December 25 with family. Taking the advantage of their absence thieves targeted his house.
The theft was discovered when the family returned on December 27. They found the lock of the house broken and the house in disarray. In another incident, unidentified miscreants targeted the house of a bank employee, when he had gone to attend the strike of bank employees. His wife is an employee of RGPV and she was on duty when the thieves entered their house.
According to Kohefiza police, complainant Mayur Mehrotra and his wife Sapna filed a complaint stating that they are residents of Minakshi Apartment and thieves entered their house and took away valuables when they had gone out. When they returned in the evening, to their surprise a purse carrying gold ornaments was missing from the house. They were suspecting involvement of white-washers working in the apartment in the theft. Kohefiza police are probing the complaint.
