BHOPAL: Burglars struck at a locked house at Malviya Nagar under Jehangirabad police station area and made away with cash and other household items, police said on Wednesday.
Police said that victim house owner Abhay Trivedi resides at Dhara Apartment near Airtel Trisection in Malviya Nagar and works as an electrical contractor.
He along with his family went to Shivpuri three days ago to meet his mother.
He asked his employee Ramji Kapse to take care of his vacant house.
On Wednesday morning, Kapse spotted Trivedi’s house burgled and informed him over phone. Based on Ramji’s complaint a case of burglary was registered by police while the exact amount of stolen booty would be known once house owner returns Bhopal.
In another case, unidentified thieves targeted a locked shop located at Jumerati market under Kotwali police station and decamped with cigarette packets, pouches and other items worth Rs 1 lakh.
According to police, complainant Nanik Rao resides at One-Tree-Hills area in Bairagarh and owns a shop at Jumerati. On Wednesday when he came to open the shop, he spotted that locks broken and several packets of cigarette, pouches and Rs 5,000 cash in the drawer stolen.
The stolen cigarette packets were of different brands which were delivered to him by a salesman on the day of burglary.
Subsequently, a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC has been registered by the police against the unidentified thieves and search has been initiated to nab them.
