Badnawar: Anger over alleged eve-teasing and molestation, a 16-year-old boy was tied to a pole and thrashed in public view at Karoda village, 12-km from Badnawar tehsil in Dhar district on Friday, police said.
His mother, who tried to intervene in the matter, was also tied to another pole and beaten up, a senior official said. Badnawar sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) Kailash Malviya said, “On Wednesday, a woman had filed a complaint of molestation against the teenager in Badnawar police station”.
“When the family members of the complainant spotted the boy in the village on Friday, they caught him and beat him up mercilessly.” Later, the duo was rescued by a team from Badnawar police station. An FIR has been registered against four persons, identified as Dharmendra Mogiya, Sewaram Mogiya and Vikram Mogiya, all three from Miyakhedi and Gowardhan Mogiya, resident of Kherwasa, under section 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) of IPC on complaint lodged by the boy’s mother. Police send both mother and son to Badnawar for medical examination.
