The names of Congress candidates for the Lok Sabha elections are trickling out of different sources even before the party has officially declared a list of contestants. Chief Minister Kamal Nath announced the name of the former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh as party candidate from Bhopal at a press conference.
It was Nath who declared the name of MP Jyotiraditya Scindia as candidate from Guna even as the party has yet to officially announce that. Congress’s Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha indirectly announced his name as party candidate from Jabalpur through a tweet on Monday. The Lok Sabha elections will decide whether the people want Tankha or Rakesh Singh as development model, the tweet said.
Some other ticket aspirants have begun campaigning even before the party has officially declared their names. They are former deputy chairman of the assembly Rajendra Singh (Satna east), Ajay Singh (Sidhi), Nakul Nath (Chhindwara) and Prabhu Singh (Sagar). A few leaders are seeking a hint about their names as party’s candidates from Nath so that they may launch their election campaigning.
