Bhopal: All schools across the state have been instructed to provide furniture to the students writing class 10 and 12 board exams beginning March 1. If the school falls short of table and chairs then they should hire it from the nearest school, advised MP board.
Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, Ajay Gangwar informed that 6,14,451 regular and 1,12,666 candidates would be appearing for class 12 board exams while 9,90,546 regular and 1,42,192 private candidates will be writing exams for class 10 this year. All exams will be held from 9am to 12 noon in one shift only. All school heads have been instructed to make sure that enough number of table and chairs are available in the school else arrange them from the nearest school. Special arrangements should be made for specially-able students, he added.
Overall, 3554 exam centres have been made for class 12 and 3864 to conduct class 10 board exams. Out of these, 283 centres have been identified as sensitive while 466 centres have been put in extra-sensitive category. Collectors could impose section 144 around exam centres or take other measures deemed fit to curb use of unfair means and mass copying. More than 50,000 teachers and non-teaching staff engaged to conduct exams have been provided insurance cover.
Stringent measures have been taken to check use of unfair means while writing exams. Writing of roll number at any other place than prescribed place in copy will be treated as unfair and action will be taken. The services of all teaching and non-teaching staff engaged in conducting board exams have been notified as ‘essential services’ under special provisions, starting February 1 for three months.
