Bhopal: Synthetic drug racket busted, three arrested

Bhopal: Special Task Force of Bhopal police have busted a drug racket which is involved in selling ecstasy drug Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) in capital city and Indore. Sources claim that this might be the first instance that a synthetic drug racket has been busted in MP.

They claim that the racket may be is involved in providing the drug in the closed group ‘Line Parties’ and that the racket might also have links with flesh trade. Special task force DSP Dishesh Agarwal said, “We have arrested three persons, including a Bhopal-based woman Aditi Sharma alias Deepika Dubey (28), Jaffar Hussain (32) a man hailing from Gonda district of East UP and their close aide Pushpendra Singh alias Soham.”

100 gm MDMA valued at Rs 5 lakh has been reportedly seized from the possession of Aditi and Jaffar arrested in Bhopal, similar quantity of the drug has been reportedly seized from Pushpendra who was arrested in Indore. According to sources though the racket’s apparent high-end clientele are the users of the drug which throng various hookah bars and lounges but subsequent probe may lead to much bigger clientele, including wealthy youngsters (both girls and boys), who are the part of closed groups that indulge in small scale variants of rave parties.

Sources claim that to evade the eyes of police and intelligence- the racket avoids farmhouses and resorts and it hold such parties at marriage halls, hotels, in flats, in rooms and even inside cars According to users of the drug- MDMA doesn’t have any hangover effect and its ecstatic impact continues for more than a day after consumption.

Line Parties

‘Line Parties’ get their name from the code language which is used for such parties like ‘aaj line kaha lagana hi’ this is the invitation or the request to join the party. In these parties, MDMA users and addicts sniff miniscule quality of the powdered form of the drug that acts as artificial stimulant or hallucinogen that gives them a high or ecstasy and often leads them to indulge in sexual act with each other. Other popular names of the drug are ecstasy drug, Molly, Mandy or Adam.

The first incident of synthetic drug use came in light few years back when a divorce case was decided because of MDMA- in which a married woman is believed to have indulged into extra-marital relations with her trainer, largely after being addicted to the MDMA. The first input about consumption of the ecstasy drug had emanated from a popular gym of the capital city.

The user of the drug are belongs to glamour and fashion industry, one of the arrested men Pusphendra has key contacts with glamour industry in the tinsel town, sources added.
