Like a scene typical of a super hero movie two traffic cops, on Monday, rescued a middle aged man from getting robbed. The incident occurred near Vyapam square on Monday at around 11 am when traffic cops Vipin Mishra and Surjeet Singh Chouhan were heading towards their home on their bikes. Meanwhile they came across a bus that had slowed down near a stop. To their shock they saw that a 55-year-old man is being thrashed by two men inside the bus.
Promptly gauging the gravity of the situation they jumped into the bus. This startled the duo but they were not willing to give up so easily. On seeing Mishra and Surjeet they took out a blade to intimidate them but one tight slap from the cops had them. They then tried to flee the scene but cops overpowered them. On quizzing- the man revealed that he had confronted the two youths on learning that they had stolen his purse. But instead the duo started hitting him, he said.
On being frisked they were found to be having only Rs 1,000 with them. Initially the miscreants refused to have stolen anything but later they confessed to police that they have thrown the money out of bus after they were about to be held by the police. Promptly feted DIG Irshaad Wali on Tuesday felicitated the two cops for their bravery and commitment towards their duty.
