Bhopal: A two-day inauguration ‘Design Contest on Grass Root Technology & Local Innovation’ began at Regional Science Centre (RSC), Bhopal on Friday. Total 39 innovative projects on different broad themes like ‘Smart Technology for Physically Disabled Person,’ ‘Computer Vision,’ ‘Ground Water & Soil,’ ‘Smart Transportation System,’ and ‘Energy efficient technology for farming’ etc. were displayed. It was judged by the experts from different prestigious institutions in the city.

Chief scientist, MP Council of Science & Technology, Tasneem Habib and Project Coordinator, RSC, Bhopal Krishnendu Choudhury were present at the event. Habib appreciated the efforts of the centre, for organising this type of program for fostering Innovation and in inculcating scientific temper amongst the students. An interactive session on theme ‘Genomics and its Applications in Information Age’ will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday. Navin Chandra, Director General, MP Council of Science & Technology, Bhopal and Moinak Banerjee, Scientist – G, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnolgy, Kerela will be chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
