Bhopal: State witnesses light rains, hailstorm

Bhopal: Neemuch and some parts of the Madhya Pradesh experienced hailstorm and light rain on Monday. According to meteorological department, due to some major systems evolving pan India, rains are likely to occur over Central India including Madhya Pradesh from Thursday onward.

Intensity of these rains will oscillate between light and moderate and would continue for four-five days, weatherman said. Moreover, favorable conditions would also result in unseasonal hailstorm activities at one or two places. Besides, there was sharp rise of minimum temperature in Sagar, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Chambal divisions. Bhopal registered 2.8 degree Celsius rise while Indore recorded rise of 4.8 degree Celsius in night temperature.

Dusty wind also enveloped the state capital on the day posing problems to commuters. The sudden change in weather in state has taken people by surprise. Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 30.5 degree Celsius, while minimum settled at 13.4 degree Celsius, three notches above normal. Night temperature on Sunday stood at 10.6 degree Celsius. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 29.2 degree Celsius and minimum of 16.0 degree Celsius, which was 4.8 degree Celsius more than recoded on previous night.
