BHOPAL: Government may open a Gaushala on 4 acre land at Gandhi Nagar earlier allotted to Asharam Babu for running an ashram. Administration on Thursday cancelled lease of the land on ground of misuse and initiated process for acquisition of the land.
The Asharam trust had purchased 10 acre from Digamber Rajdev and 1.50 acre from Radha Bhandari. The then Chief minister Digvijay Singh had allotted him 4 acre on lease. There was complaint with district administration for running illegal activities and encroachment in 4 acre land. Sources closed to administration said that Goshala will be opened on this 4 acre land.
ADM Santosh Verma said, “We have cancelled the land lease. It was allotted to Asharam Bapu for running an ashram. However, there was complaint of illegal activities being conducted through Ashram.
It was commercially used for running general store. On the ground of such complaint, we cancelled the lease. And process is on for acquiring the land.” Now it’s up to government to decide hot to put it in use, all options are open, he added.
