Bhopal: State Cabinet expansion would take place after Lok Sabha election results. Those who were not included in the cabinet at the time of formation of government, would be given chance in cabinet expansion. Chief Minister Kamal Nath has promises to keep as during Lok Sabha polls, had assured several disgruntled MLAs to induct them into the cabinet. The promise of ministerial position had pacified the sullen MLAs. Congress MLAs along with independent MLAs namely Surendra Singh Shera, SP MLA Rajesh Shukla and BSP MLA Sanjiv Kushwaha have been promised of ministerial berths through cabinet expansion after Lok Sabha poll results.
Amongst Congress MLAs, Hira Alawa was promised of ministerial berth for not fielding candidates of JAYS on tribal seats. Nath has also promised to KP Singh, Aindal Singh Kansana, Bisahulal Singh and some other MLAs of giving ministerial positions. The state cabinet including Chief Minister presently has 29 members and there are six vacancies. In order to include some MLAs in the cabinet, Nath is also considering showing door to some of the ministers. The cabinet ministers, representing the constituencies where Congress is going to lose with a huge margin in Lok Sabha elections, will be shown the door. Nath had earlier warned his ministers that review of their performance would be done after Lok Sabha elections.Ministers had done a lot of hardwork in their areas during the parliamentary elections. Similarly, the ministers representing the areas where party is going to win with a huge margin of votes in Lok Sabha elections, will be elevated and given better portfolios.
