Bhopal: The chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that no matter how good a scheme is, there are some who just want to spoil it somehow. Chouhan was addressing a programme to mark the inauguration of the portal of “Bhavantar Yoajana”. He said that “Whenever I announce any new scheme, the bureaucrats start developing cold feet. They want to know from where the budget will come. But I don’t get into ifs and buts. I ordered purchase of onions and ensure that everyone from the collector to the SP to the SDMs should do only one thing – buy onions”.
He said that the state is staring at drought. There are districts which have received negligible rainfall. This is a big challenge for the government. Chouhan said that if this situation persists, we will have to find alternative sources of livelihood for the farmers. In this connection, he announced that sons of farmers who want to set up food processing industries will be provided loans from Rs 10 lakhs up to Rs 2 crore.
He said that there will be no limit for reimbursement under the “Bhavantar Yoajana”. “Whatever is the difference between the market price and the MSP will be paid by the government”. He said that the government will subsidise construction of godowns for storing onion. He said that if a farmer wants to build a house for himself on his land, he would not be required to apply for diversion. He said that the government will announce MSP for milk too. He said that Kisan Sammelans will be organised in all districts from September 15-October 15.
