BHOPAL: Governor Anandiben Patel said that the help of the society must be taken in the education and educational development of children of martyr and sainik families. Efforts should be made to get financial support by contacting financially sound families and management of educational institution.
Governor Patel said that the sainiks are self-respecting. They will not demand help. Patel was addressing the meeting of vice chancellors at Raj Bhavan on Sunday. She urged the gathering to take initiatives for mass marriage of children of sainiks. She said that a book should be published comprising details of the difficult training, risk, sacrifice of the brave soldiers and make it available to the students.
She mentioned that students in colleges should be encouraged for rehabilitation of ex-servicemen. They should be told to come forward to help the children of the martyr sainiks in their higher education. The Governor said that information about the ex-service men will be provided to the universities after obtaining it from the Red Cross at the district level.She told the vice chancellors to inspect the colleges and review arrangements and to ensure that academic calendar is strictly followed.
