Bhopal: Soaps produced by SHGs better than Lux, Pears: CM

Bhopal: Acting as a brand ambassador endorsing the products of the SHGs, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan addressing the convention said’ I am here to promote the SHG products”. The soap produced by SHGs is better than Pears and Lux, while the rich and healthy Kodo-Kutki rice is being bought by 5 star hotels, claimed the CM.

Chauhan announced several sops for women’s SHGs. He said these groups would be exempted from stamp duty on loan documentation, besides they will get a three per cent rebate on interest. Stating that the government will create a market for the SHG products, Chauhan said that they would open shops for them at district level and also rent space in major shopping mall in Bhopal to provide selling space for these SHGs. He said that federations comprising a group of SHGs could seek loans of upto Rs 5 crore backed by the government’s guarantee.

The Self Help Group federation will be formed and they will going to prepare the ‘take home ration’, the government will take the bank guarantee for the loan and will also going to provide the technical support, he added. He said that from the next academic session, school uniform will be made by SHGs. The SHGs will also collect electricity bills from consumers for which they will be paid Rs 6000 per month, he announced. Speaking on women reservation in Panchayat Raj institution, Chauhan said women panch, sarpanch, janpad panchayat and district panchayat presidents are running their office very efficiently. He also informed that women candidates will get 50 per cent reservation in teachers’ recruitment. “In building PM’s new India, the contribution of state women will be significant and the state is witnessing a new awakening through women empowerment”, said CM.

Speaking about the schemes for women empowerment in the State, Chauhan said ‘Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana was the first and then came Ladli Laxmi Yojna. Nearly 26 lakh beneficiaries have been registered under Ladli Laxmi Yojna and they will get amount of Rs 31,000 crore at the maturity, informed Chauhan. Amazed seeing such huge gathering, rural development minister Gopal Bhargava said that has been in politics for last 30 to 40 years but he has never seen such mamith gathering of women, which he claimed was unique and will be an example for others. “Till date the government has given loan around Rs 19,00 crore to SHGs, around 1.5 lakh families have become lakhpati by earning Rs 10,000 per month in the state”, he claimed.

Accused minister Arya shares stage

Minister Lal Singh Arya who is co-accused in murder case and was absconding for last many days, made a public appearance at the programme here. He also shared the dais with CM and others minister at the programme. After getting relief from the Indore bench of High court, Arya for the first time was seen attending a government function.

On Sunday, Arya along with other ministers and CM reached Raja Bhoj airport to welcome the Vice President. Arya was absconding since a Bhind court issued an arrest warrant against him in the case of murder of former MLA Makhanlal Jatav. The court on Friday had stayed the arrest of minister.
