BHOPAL: Following an alleged threat received from the SIMI, the security around police stations and the offices of the police brass in the city has been beefed up. From November 26, the three-day Ijtima begins in the city and the police have started preparations to avert any untoward incident in the event.
The state police have received inputs about SIMI threat from national security agencies.
The security in all the police stations and the offices of SP, DIG IG and other senior officers has been increased with entry having been restricted. No one is being allowed inside without ID proof and the visitors are being frisked.
The policemen involved in the encounter with SIMI men have also been provided increased security. Their family members have also been provided security.
SP Arvind Saxena informed that watertight security arrangements are being made for the Ijtima.
More than 3000 security personnel will be deployed in two shifts for the event and security cameras will be installed. The personnel will be deployed from November 25 till November 29.
The special branch of the city police will also keep an eye on the suspicious persons.
Around 3000 volunteers from Ijtima committee are also going to help and support the security personnel.
