BHOPAL: A six-member team submitted a 90-page report on Simhastha to the state Congress president on Sunday. The team has found various irregularities in the works done by the government to organise the fair. The party has demanded CBI inquiry into the scam.
“When asked how much amount has been spent for organising the Simhastha, every time the government answers different amount utilised in organising fete,” alleged state Congress president Arun Yadav, while addressing a press conference.
The six member team lead by the in-charge leader of opposition MLA Bala Bacchan had investigated into the ground reality of the fair scam.
They alleged that even the temple of Mahakal was not spared from corruption, as Rs 2.56 crore has been spent to construct the temple, but the dome of Nandi hall is still having leakage. The police department has also spent Rs 37 lakh on advertisements, it has been asked in the report as to where and for what the advertisement has been issued. It is also alleged that the police department has installed CCTV cameras worth Rs 21.64 crores, but the department has failed to provide the video recordings, which is needed to check the quality of the cameras. It has been alleged that to organise Vaicharik Mahakumbh an amount of Rs 27 crores was spent, and the programme is lead by the RSS and its subsidiary organisations.
