Bhopal: Actor Shraddha Kapoor was in the city to promote her upcoming film Haseena Parkar, based on life of sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
Along with Shraddha, her brother Siddhant Kapoor and Ankur Bhatia also reached the city.
The action film is based on the life of Haseena Parker who entered the crime world after her husband was shot dead on 1991.
In the film Shraddha plays the role of Parkar during her life between 17 and 42 years, while Siddhant is playing the role of Parkar’s real life brother Dawood Ibrahim.
Bhatia, who hails from Bhopal, is also playing an important role in the movie.
The movie depicts the journey of Haseena as how she became the undisputed queen of Mumbai after her brother Dawood Ibrahim fled India.
Talking to media persons, Shraddha said the role was challenging and she had to put extra effort to enter the shoes of a woman who once faced 88 criminal charges. “I also had to gain weight for playing a 42-year-old woman, which now I am losing after finishing the shoot.”
“I interacted with her grandchildren and other relatives who helped me during the course,” Kapoor said. She also revealed that a few of her relatives had also acted in the movie.
Shraddha said she regretted not being able to meet Parkar as she was no more, otherwise it would have been easier to play the character.
On being asked as how did he play role of Dawood as there was no information available about his way of living at the age of 18 or 19 years, Siddhant said at a young age Dawood was not noticed by anyone, hence his moves were decided by the team.
