BHOPAL: Ex-Chief Minister and BJP national vice-president Shivraj Singh Chouhan questioned the lodging of an FIR in Bhopal against Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) head Mahant Narendra Giri on the complaint of controversial self-styled godman Swami Vairagyanand Giri, here on Sunday. He has also raised the issue of an FIR lodged against the Union Minister’s son.

On Friday, the godman Swami Vairagyanand Giri aka as Mirchi Baba lodged a case against ABAP head Mahant Narendra Giri, alleging that the latter and followers are threatening to kill him if he didn’t take samadhi (entombment) to fulfill his vow of taking samadhi if Congress leader Digvijaya Singh lost the LS polls from Bhopal.

“I wonder what has happened to MP police, their men first murdered a cop’s son Shivam Mishra in custody and now an FIR has lodged by them against ABAP head Mahant Narendra Giri on a complaint from a farji and dhongi Mirchi Baba. Mahant Narendra Giri is a great seer who heads the representative body of all 13 akharas

, he’s never talked to a fake saint like Mirchi Baba, who has already been expelled by his akhara. How can the police register an FIR against a great seer sans investigation, only on the basis of a complaint by a fake baba named Mirchi Baba,” questioned Chouhan.

Acting on the complaint filed by the seer on Friday, the cops at Ayodhya Nagar police station of Bhopal lodged a case against Narendra Girl and others.

Importantly, the Bhopal-based seer Swami Vairagyanand Giri was among the Hindu seers who had campaigned for Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh during recent Lok Sabha polls. Chouhan also alleged that union minister of

state Prahlad Patel’s son Prabal Patel was arrested and booked in a false case in Narsinghpur district, just because he was the Union Minister’s son. “I know it well that Prabal wasn’t present at the spot, when the alleged crime happened, but still he has been booked and arrested,” said Chouhan.

Prabal and cousin Monu are among 20 men who have been booked for attempted murder of four men, including a home guard on Monday-Tuesday intervening night. While Prabal and six others have been arrested and are in judicial custody, cousin Monu is absconding
