BHOPAL: A team of Crime branch and Mahila Thana police claimed to have arrested ten persons including four women in connection with a sex racket that was being operated from posh locality of Arera Colony on Monday.
Police claimed that the main accused Ashutosh Vajpayee used to operate sex racket and supply liquor to the alleged customers. Additonal superindtendent of police (ASP) crime Nischal Jharia said that acting on a tip-off, regarding visit of different people in a house no E 5/77, we roped in personnel from Mahila Thana and conducted the joint action.
We found some people in compromising position along with some objectionable things around. Over 60 litre of liquor has also been recovered. Police said that the nabbed persons have revealed that the owner of the house- Ashutosh Vajpayee was operating the racket and used to provide liquor to the customers at very high rates.
The identified accused are: Mithlesh Punera, Krishan GC, Sunil Dubey of Sadar Jabalpur, Naveen Jaat of Narsinghpur and Prem Oli of Bheem Nagar Bhopal. Among the women who have been held two are from Jabalpur, one hail from Lucknow and one other is from Bhopal. The main accused has been booked for more than half a dozen crimes by MP Nagar police.
He has been also arrested by Habibganj police for operating a sex racket. After the preliminary investigation a case under sections 4, 5 and 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) and Section 34 (2) of the Excise Act has been registered. Police said that other persons involved in the sex racket would also be identified and nabbed.
