BHOPAL: The Department of Management of BSSS organised a Faculty Development Programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST) for the development, improving teaching skills and knowledge enhancement of the faculty on as a part of faculty support on Tuesday. Around 60 faculty members attended the programme. The Guest speaker for the occasion was Yarab A, Business Development Manager in Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore. He is a member of Centre for Excellence Team engaged in disseminating information and knowledge on GST and has an experience of 10 years as trainer. The programme intended to throw light on what GST is about and its need. GST is a simple tax structure which intends to eliminate the cascading effect of dual taxes like Central Sales Tax, Excise Duties etc. through this technology driven tax system the government will be in a position to increase the revenue. Apart from this it will also help in seamless supply of Input Credit Tax. GST in the long run is truly beneficial for the country’s economic growth.
