Bhopal: Self study and hard work— the mantra behind success

Bhopal: Results of Class XII exams of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) were released on Sunday. Free Press Journal spoke to some of the toppers in the city to reveal the secrets behind their success.

I want to be doctor. I just wrote the AIIMS examination held on Sunday. I believe in regular study and used to devote 11 hours during exams. I used to take half-an-hour break and also play games for about an hour daily to destress. I used to wake up at 5.45 am and go to bed at 12 midnight. Though I believe in self study, I take coaching classes to prepare for competitive exams. All credit goes to my parents, especially, my mother who works in railway. She worked hard for my success and also took leave from office during my exams. My father is a manager with IDBI Bank

Bhavesh Santani, Subject: PCB Marks: 98.4%, School: Sharda Vidya Mandir

I didn’t expect to make it to the top. I was expecting 95 to 96 per cent. I used to devote five hours for self study during school time and during exams, eight to nine hours daily. I love painting and I got 100 out of 100 in painting. I want to go for Indian Foreign Service and before that I will do BA (Hons) in history. It was the collective effort of my parents and teachers behind my success, but special thanks to my father, who used to prepare notes for me

I am so happy. I never expected that I will become a school topper. I used to study regularly and devote two hours daily in studies. I devoted twelve hours daily for studies during exams. I want to do MBA. All credit goes to my teachers

I want to crack UPSC exam, but before that I am thinking to do graduation in Economics either from Delhi University or St. Xavier College, Mumbai. I love Economics and got 99 in the subject. In fact I scored very good marks in all the subjects except English. I believe in regular and self study and never attended any coaching. I used to take gap in between studies. I want to give all credit to my parents, teachers and friends. My father is a businessman and mother is homemaker

I will pursue engineering now and after that I will go for MBA. I will take CAT preparation for MBA. Basically, I want to pursue a career in aeronautics. I used to do self study and I know very well how to manage time well. I also used to attend FITJEE classes for competitive exams. All credit goes to my parents, teachers and brother. My father is a doctor and mother is lecturer

Pulkit Deshmukh, Subject: PCM with Computers,  Marks: 96.8%, School: Campion

It was my hard work of two or three months that paid. I used to devote three to four hours daily in studies. I want to make a career in Indian Foreign Service. I will do graduation in Computer Science from Delhi University and also prepare for UPSC. Top karne se jayada fark nahi padta. At present, marks are important to secure admission in good college, but they are not everything. All credit goes to my teachers and parents. My father is chief general manager in MP Road Development Corporation and mother is a homemaker
