Bhopal: Selection committee, not MPPSC to recruit teachers in medical colleges: Mishra

Bhopal: The recruitment of teaching staff for government medical colleges will now be done by a selection committee headed by the ACS instead of MPPSC. “The proposal to get the appointments made in the medical colleges through MPPSC has been dropped,” parliamentary affair minister Narrotam Mishra told reporters citing a Cabinet decision.

Directorate of medical education commissioner and the department ACS will have the authority to conduct interviews for the teaching staff for the government medical colleges, said Mishra. Informing about the decisions taken in the meeting, the minister said that for drinking water, government has earmarked separate budget for PHE department.

Under the Mukhyamantri Rural Drinking Water Programme, Rs 900 crore has been allocated. A sum of Rs 400 crore has been allotted for urban area and Rs 106 crore for the development of surface water schemes, said the minister. Importantly, Rs 40512 crore has been allocated for developing linkage between dams and water supplies for the habitants, informed the minister adding that Rs 3644 has been allotted for development of the fisheries. To organise Gwalior Trade Fair Rs 4 crore has been earmarked, while for the MSME publicity Rs 108 crore has been allocated.

The family of Tendu leaf collector, who used to get Rs 26000 on the death as an insurance money, will now be given Rs 2 lakh including other ex-gratis amount given under various schemes of Union and state governments. The insurance scheme has been dropped.

Rs 50 lakh award to Indian women cricket team

The Indian women cricket team, the runner up of ICC World Cup Women, will be given Rs 50 lakh award at a function, the Cabinet has decided. To promote sports in the state and to send MP players to Asian, Olympic games and other international events a sum of Rs 21 core had been allocated to improve the infrastructure. In the coming three years Rs 90 crore will be spent on sports infrastructural development. For the up gradation of 820 high school and 540 higher secondary schools Rs 355 crore has been allocated, Rs 100 crore has been allocated to provide furniture in 6039 middle school of the state
