Bhopal: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday announced that devotees who have completed five years of “Tirath-darshan” will be given another chance. Every year, two lakh devotees will be given chance under “Tirath-Darshan”. Trains, as per requirement, will be increased, he added.
The CM made the announcement while addressing a programme held to mark completion of five years of “Tirath Darshan Yojana” at Ravindra Bhavan on Sunday.
The CM said that the kit of necessary items would also be provided to pilgrims along with brochure containing detail historical and cultural information about religious places. He also said that religious places falling en-route too would be incorporated.
If MLA wants to join devotees, they too will also included. More religious places will be incorporated after discussion with spiritual leaders. Instructions have been given for necessary changes and amendment in Yojana to make it more fruitful, CM added.
Chouhan said that the main objective behind launching Tirath-Darshan Yojana is to ensure spiritual happiness to senior citizens of the state. Religious places purify soul and mind. One gets motivation to do good deeds. Satisfaction and happiness which one draws from “darshan” cannot be equated with worldly affairs.
This is the reason, all festivals are celebrated at CM House with gaiety and fervor. It is the responsibility of the government to shape up “Parlok” (paradise) with “Ihlok” (worldly affairs).
In addition to Tirath-Yojana, government is working to ensure subsidized food, free medicines, education, pukka houses to poor by 2022. Religion gives true happiness. Religion always stays with a man even during dire straits. Respecting senior citizens is the essence of Indian culture. Elders are respected in most of the families. Laws have been formulated to safeguard rights of elders, he added.
Minister for religious endowment Yashodhara Raje Scindia said, “Over 5 lakh elderly persons were a given chance of tirath-darshan, 503 trips have been sponsored in 5 years.”
Mahant Chandrama Das said, “Every old person dreams of tirath-darshan. Affluent class fulfills its dream with while the government is fulfilling dream of the deprived class. It is a good initiative of state government.”
