Bhopal: The Bhopal city link limited (BCLL) has now consented to allow plying of other vehicles in the much-hyped BRTS corridor. The corridor was in news for minister of urban development Jaiwardhan Singh’s statement of making a policy for the corridor.
In an order given by the in-charge chief executive officer of BCLL OP Bhardwaj, the emergency vehicles including ambulance and police vehicles were allowed to run in the corridor earlier. He said, “Now, we have decided to allow other vehicles including inter-city buses and school buses in to ply in the BRTS. The school buses will be allowed to ply only with the condition that they will have to adhere to our policies.”
The BRTS corridor was already in controversies and on Wednesday evening, minister Singh had held talks with the Sindhi community at Bairagarh where they told him that their business is suffering due to the corridor after which he had assured them of some development for them. It was also said that the corridor is necessary for the public transport and now the other vehicles are allowed to run in it. The school buses will have to first apply for facility with BCLL and after permission buses will be allowed to run with certain conditions.
In case the buses are found to be flouting the conditions, the permission for running inside the corridor will be cancelled by the BCLL. The vehicles running inside the corridor will not be allowed to stop in the corridor and other such conditions are there which are to be followed by the agencies which are allowed to ply their vehicles to ply inside the BRTS corridor. OP Bhardwaj, when contacted said that the buses will be allowed to ply only after they are imparted training in our workshop andin case theyr flout any of the norms, we will cancel the order and also ensure legal action agaisnt them, he said.
