Bhopal: The Supreme Court has admitted a petition filed by Madhya Pradesh and other states regarding hearing applicants whose forest rights cases had been cancelled. The Supreme Court in its hearing on Thursday, stayed its order issued on February 13, 2019, directing Madhya Pradesh and other states to provide detailed information about the process adopted for the cancellation of forests rights cases.
The stay order of the Supreme Court has given a chance to the states to submit affidavit about protection of rights of tribals and status of forest rights cases, which were not to be displaced without adopting a legal process. Chief Minister Kamal Nath, has expressed happiness over the Supreme Court staying its previous order in connection with evicting the applicants of forest rights cases from forest land.
Chief Minister said today’s proceedings of the court would give an opportunity to the tribals, who were deprived of forest rights Pattas, to put up their point of view and no tribal would be evicted from forests as of now.
