BHOPAL: Sarangi Jugalbandi, Punjabi folk songs and dances were presented under a weekly series programme ‘Uttaradhikar’ at Tribal Museum on Sunday. The concert began with duet performance of citybased sarangi players Ustad Munne Khan and Aabid Husain who belong to Gwalior gharana.
They started with raag ‘Saraswati’ in vilambit ek and drut teen taal. They were accompanied by Mohd Saleem Allahwale on tabla. The programme concluded with the mesmerising performance of Karmraj Karma Musical Group. They presented
popular folk dances including jinduaa, jhoomar, gidda, malwai and songs like ‘shuhe vichariye walia…,’ ‘kala sha kala , ‘ amritsar da papad aur latthe di chadar…’. Besides, they also presented a sufi song ‘kamli yar di kamli…,’ that left the audience spellbound. The programme was organised by Adivasi Lokkala Vikas Academy.
