BHOPAL: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting inquiry against the 319 students who had taken admission in the government medical colleges of the state, after the Supreme Court dismissed the admissions of 634 students. These students had taken admission through unfair means. In 2012, the Special Task Force had registered case against the 319 students. Later the case was transferred to CBI in 2015 on the directives of the Supreme Court. CBI is only conducting inquiry against the cases filed by STF. The STF has not registered the case against the 315 students in the Vyapam scam.

The irregularities started from 2008 and ended in 2012, when the admission racket was busted in Indore. Whistleblower Paras Saklecha and others filed the case in SC and during hearing it was found that the irregularity was happening since 2008. The court dismissed the admission of 634 students on the basis of documents submitted by the directorate of medical education, but the CBI is only conducting inquiry against 319 students; the remaining 315 from 2008 to 2011 are left aside.

The SC has instructed the petitioner to file the case in the trail court against the admission of 315 students. Saklecha said he would file the case in HC Jabalpur against the 315 students. If STF or CBI conducted inquiry into the matter more names and racket would be unveiled.
