Bhopal: Sadhvi Pragya Thakur on ‘Ekaantwaas’ post PM Modi’s rebuke

BHOPAL: Facing heat over her controversial statement, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur has gone for ‘Ekaantwaas’ after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah expressed their annoyance over her lauding Nathuram Godse, assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, as a ‘patriot’. Pragya, who left Burhanpur after her road show was cancelled, did not return to Bhopal and instead headed to much required ‘Ekaantwaas’.

The sadhvi has gone to a secluded place in Sehore and has refused meeting anyone. The Bhopal Lok Sabha BJP candidate is accompanied with her sister, who is in touch with party leaders. All the party directions are being are being shared with her to be passed on to the Sadhvi, an accused in Malegaon blast case.

According to sources, central BJP leaders have in strong words have told Pragya to keep mum and not to give any statement. The BJP leader has stopped interacting with anyone for the last two days due to stern directives from party higher ups. She has been advised to remain silent till results of Lok Sabha elections.

State BJP leaders have also been asked to keep an eye on Pragya to ensure that she doesn’t come up with any statement which might stroke controversy and leave adverse impact on party’s poll prospects. BJP fears damage on seats where polling is scheduled on May 19 due to Pragya’s statement. BJP leaders have put restrictions on her to prevent further damage.
