Bhopal: Former IAS officer SN Rupla, who was close to former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has been appointed as registrar of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). Rupla, after his retirement, was working as officer-on-special-duty (OSD) during Chouhan’s tenure as Chief Minister.
He had resigned from the post of OSD during assembly elections to go on tour with Chouhan. Rupla stayed with Chouhan during his tours ahead of the elections. He wanted to contest assembly elections from Susner seat as BJP candidate.
Antony DeSa, chairman, RERA appointed Rupla as registrar.
Sources said Rupla has been appointed on a monthly salary of Rs 85,000. His appointment has come as a surprise in administrative circles. Sources also said that the contract appointment letter of Rupla also mentions that his term could be extended on finding his work satisfactory.
